Knotless braids are a modern way of braiding hair, especially popular with Black women. The big difference from regular box braids is - no knots! 

With regular braids, the braider ties a small knot at the roots using the extension hair. This knot can cause bumps and tension on the scalp. But with knotless braids, there's no knot at the roots. Instead, the braider first braids down a little section of just your natural hair. Then they gradually add in and braid together the extension hair as they go down. 

So knotless braids:

Here are the simple steps to guide you how to do knotless braids: 

1. Start with clean, moisturized, and untangled hair. 

2. Part hair into small square or triangle sections. Section size determines braid thickness. 

3. Put a little gel at the roots of each section to grip the braid base. 

4. Divide that section into 3 strands. Braid down 2-3 inches using only your natural hair. 

5. Then start adding in tiny pieces of extension hair, smoothly adding some into each of the 3 strands as you braid down. 

6. Spritz with braid spray as you go to blend in the extensions. 

7. Keep braiding down, adding more extension pieces until you reach desired length. 

8. Seal the ends with gel or pomade. 

9. Repeat this feed-in braiding technique until all sections are braided. 

10. Use mousse or hairspray for extra hold if needed. 

The main things are using small parts, light tension when braiding, and blending in the extensions little by little. Go slowly at first until you get the hang of it. Take breaks if your arms get tired!
